I specialise in tutoring Physics for international and local students. At the national A-level exam, I attained 9 distinctions for 9 subjects, including Physics. I intend to teach based on my own experiences and learning methods as an ’A’ student. I believe strongly that a good education begins with a good grasp of fundamentals and a passion for learning. A student must be motivated to have interest not in grades but in the subject knowledge itself, and must be able to build his or her knowledge flexibly and firmly upon strong basics to be able to achieve the best results with the least amount of effort.
I am also a huge music lover and I would love to teach casual pianists or beginner drummers, as well as music theory for beginners who are seeking to write songs or simply want to train their ear for music. I have been learning the piano since I was 6 and also been playing and performing behind a drum set for the past 6 years (including for Boon Lay Countdown Party 2012 & 2013), and I have explored genres including jazz, rock, funk, soul and Latin.
At Raffles Institution, one of the premiere schools, I have been on the dean’s list on multiple occasions for Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics and General Paper. I took 13 academic units for ’A’ levels with 2 H3 Distinctions in Math (NUS Linear Algebra) and Physics (Essentials of Modern Physics) and A’s for all H2 and H1 subjects, scoring a total of 9’A’s. I have been accepted to Cambridge University to study Economics on a scholarship.
