|Qualification :|| NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE [...]
HWA CHONG INSTITUTION [...]
As a former student from science stream, math and science have been my stronger subjects. I have been helping my younger sister with her school work since her primary school days. Hence, I am not unfamiliar with teaching and guiding students on their work. I would not consider myself as a smart student, but one who works hard in school and at home. As a result, I am able to understand how a good foundation knowledge is very crucial, which is one that I want to help build in students that I will help in future. Also, as a slow learner, I believe that learning takes time for some people, which I am confident that I will be patient enough to teach the students in need. My teaching style is always going back to the basics, helping my tutee understand how various small topics link together, thereby making sense and appreciating what they are studying. Personally, I think mind maps are really helpful, and how making notes for oneself is greatly beneficial for exams. Even though I have never given private tuition before, I have faith that I am able to help my students improve gradually over time. I may not be a professional tutor, but I will try my best to be like one, or simply just a guider, to pace my student's study progress over time.
