    My approach to teaching stems from my belief that students should be taught to fish and I avoid fishing for them without their involvement. I believe in transferring thought processes, guidelines and exam techniques and will hand hold my students as they learn to apply these skills. To value-add, I keep myself available to my students via WhatsApp, so they can ask me any questions outside lesson times and I will guide them from there. For Sciences, I focus on three main aspects: (1) Content understanding, (2) Application of knowledge, and (3) Answering techniques. I always ensure that my students can understand the concepts before asking them to memorise the hard facts, for which memory techniques will be taught. In applying, I lead them through the thought process to logically deduce answers. As for answering techniques, I train my students to have a critical eye for key words, and apply important terms and phrases when answering. Beyond exams, I like to share knowledge of how science is applied to daily life as it often piques their interest toward the subject.

    Math to me, is a subject which not only develops analytical skills, but also nurtures an attitude in the students. I request that my students practise all of their textbook and ten-year series questions. I prefer to develop accuracy in their work before moving on to speed. For students making perpetual careless mistakes, I guide them to apply methods to minimise carelessness. Above all, I often connect the practice of Math questions with life philosophies and encourage my students to develop perseverance and prudence from which.

    I am teaching part-time since Dec 2018 as I have returned to a full-time position in healthcare. However I have 1.5 weekdays off and will be able to have more lessons with my students nearer to exams.
