I graduated from Yale-NUS College in Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Philosophy. One of the fields I studied was Epistemology, which is IB Theory of Knowledge. Having specialised in Philosophy and having completed the IB Programme, I have a strong grasp of the concepts of IB Theory of Knowledge. In college, I wrote many research papers in Philosophy and Literature. I wrote a Literature Extended Essay in IB. I have the skills and experience to advise IB students in writing Extended Essays in Literature or Philosophy.
I have 2 years of experience tutoring 2 students. I taught O Level Physics to a boy from Sec 3 to 4. His Physics grade improved from Cs/Ds to A2 in a few months, and he earned an A1 at 'O' Levels. I taught English to a Sec 2 girl who was a PRC national and struggled with the language. I focused on improving her grasp of the language. Her speech and writing ability improved. Although she struggled to fulfill the requirements of the subject, her grades improved from Ds/Fs to Cs/Bs.
I took part in the MOE Teaching Internship Programme from Jan - March 2012 and taught Physics and Literature at Sembawang Secondary School.
I received the following academic prizes: St. Margaret's Secondary School: First in Level (Sec 4 & 5); English Language, Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry, and Combined Humanities (SS-Geog) Prizes Anglo-Chinese School (Independent): Perfect Score; SL Geography Prize; Dean's List (Visual Arts), Certificate of Distinction (Visual Arts)
